Hilton, Los Cabos
Resort / Mexico / HBA Los Angeles / COMPLETED IN 2015
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
HBA was tasked with completely renovating Hilton Los Cabos after Hurricane Odile decimated the property in 2014. Using raw and organic materials, as well as salvaged materials from the hurricane's damage, HBA sought to create a natural element at the resort. The revamped hotel has an open design to frame the ocean view, bright colors, and several redesigned bars and restaurants. Other design highlights include found driftwood, custom hand painted wall art, signature Mexican designs and patterns, and hammocks to evoke a relaxed, yet modern vibe. HBA's Canvas Art Consultants commissioned a mural by Jet Martinez for one of the public spaces. The artist's ornate and vibrant murals, which feature cultural and historical references to the ceramics and textiles of Mexico, dovetails with the vision of an art program featuring contemporary re-interpretations of the heritage of Mexican arts and crafts.
