PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Appointed by the iconic British luxury brand Harrods to design its global first private members' club, 'The Residence', SOCIAL F+B has crafted an exceptional space within Shanghai's historic Cha House. Seamlessly blending Harrods' distinguished British heritage with Shanghai's rich culture, the interior design exudes a 'regal' grandeur. Interweaving opulence with local Shanghai accents, the design gracefully complements the colonial baroque architectural style of the building. From intricately designed wall panels to bespoke furnishings and custom art-deco display cabinets, each element reflects luxury and pays homage to the city's heritage. The club also hosts Gordon Ramsay’s inaugural Shanghai restaurant, offering unique experiences to its members.
The Harrods Piano Bar on the first floor, accessible to the public, epitomizes elegance and serves as a prelude to the celebratory atmosphere awaiting private club members. Through a collaborative design effort with HBA brand partner, Light Directions, the space seamlessly transitions from day to night, enhancing the lighting and introducing ‘multiple layers’ to enrich the evening ambiance.
