PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Gemdale is located in Tianjin, the oldest port on the northern region of the Yellow River. The water of the Tianjin Harbour melded harmoniously with the pristine colour and texture of the Yellow River, which was the source of inspiration for the design. The intricately textured marble finishes from the lobby resonated with the watery ripples as depicted on the corridor carpet design, creating a rhythmic space that is unique and richly layered. The use of reflective materials, such as metal and glass, brings out the qualities of “water” through different forms of expression with its play on lights and shadows.
