The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou
Hotel / Greater China / HBA Singapore / COMPLETED IN 2020
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Inspired by the opening scene of Breakfast at Tiffany's, draped elegantly in a sculpted gown by Givenchy, Holly Golightly alights from a yellow cab, strands of pearls adorning her neck and her well-coifed hair crowned by a diamante ornament. Sipping coffee and nibbling on pasty, she gazes upon the luxury jewelry store’s window display – her “happy place”. Envision a lavish interior of finely appointed, traditional décor, offering a glorious variety of sweet and savory delights, served on tiered trays with curated selection of fine beverages. Evoking an air of sophistication and glamour, the scene’s ambiance inspires not only a design language, but also an F&B concept proposal which aligns to Ritz-Carlton Guangzhou’s image as a luxury hotel with a rich and romantic interior. For a moment in a world of stark, unforgiving modernity, one can enjoy the sense of entitled luxury and a gentle refinement associated with a bygone era within this special space.
