Nina Park and Wood Fossil Experience Centre, Hong Kong

Culture & Museums / China / HBA Hong Kong / COMPLETED IN 2024

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Our client has spectacularly unveiled their unparalleled collection of petrified trees, transforming a commercial and residential precinct into an immersive park that melds education with amusement. This visionary project features an open-air gallery for the towering exhibits and a sheltered space for in-depth narratives and interactive engagements. Exhibition designers have masterfully brought this vision to life, crafting a narrative journey complemented by an innovative lighting scheme that not only meets but exceeds BEAM Plus Gold environmental standards. The exhibit's lighting strategy employs a judicious mix of full spectrum "white" light to illuminate the fossils and interpretive areas, while employing dynamic, coloured lighting to create a captivating backdrop for pathways, water elements, and landscaping, enhancing the visitor experience and offering enchanting photo moments. Special lighting treatments, such as animated and colour-changing effects, spotlight geological processes like sedimentation and volcanic activity, enriching the narrative of the exhibits.
