PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Situated nearby the UNESCO archeological site of Liangzhu ancient city, the design of the hotel seeks to draw timeless parallels between ancient Liangzhu culture and modern China. It draws inspiration upon a mysterious artefact discovered at this archeological site, the Cong, considered by academia to be man’s earliest attempts to understand and study the moon and universe. We now live in a world shaped by digital media and in a culture driven by virtual influences. Yet our modern culture is a mirror of our ancient past. Like our ancestors, we still seek to understand man’s worth and existence, and mark it within history through our virtual posts. It is through this conviction that links us to our past. Although mechanisms and technology to study it may change, one unifying eternal presence has presided over all eras, ushering the rise and fall of each civilization…. the Moon, the ultimate Influencer.
