Hotel Alfonso XIII, Seville
Heritage, Hotel, Renovation / Spain / HBA London / COMPLETED IN 2012
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Commissioned by the Spanish king whose name it bears, one of the most prestigious hotels in Europe, Hotel Alfonso XIII, represents the complex and layered cultural history of Seville, from its Moorish artistic influences and exotic Andalusian culture. HBA was entrusted to undertake a program of historical restoration and refurbishment to protected areas of the hotel, combined with whole scale reimagining of key spaces. Rendered in a neo-Mujedar style, the hotel is a perfectly harmonious addition to historic Seville, the romantic southernmost part of Spain, which introduced the world to flamenco dancing and bullfighting.
